Chicago is on a record pace this year for startups achieving a $1 billion valuation, what’s known as a unicorn. Nine of the 71 unicorns minted in the United States so far this year are based in Chicago, bringing the city’s total to more than 15. (That’s behind only San Francisco and New York.) Is Chicago emerging as a great tech hub? Or is this a post-pandemic gold rush that won’t pan out?

Some of the world’s best tech entrepreneurs and investors will join us to discuss: Sach Chitnis, Co-Founder and Partner, Jump Capital, Mar Hershenson, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Pear Ventures, and Dana Wright, MATH Venture Partners Managing Director and M&A expert. Booth School of Business Prof. Steve Kaplan, who founded the school’s world-renowned New Venture Challenge venture competition, will moderate.
